THOMAS "TIM" TESSIER

Memory is a way of holding on to the things you love, the things you are, the things you never want to lose."
from The Wonder Years

For Whom We have lost.

Tim (Thomas) Tessier passed comfortably at the Center for Extended Care in Amherst. He was preceded in death by this brother Jim and sister Anne. Tim's wife of over 50 years Kathie, died May 16, 2018. Tim leaves behind his daughter and her husband, his son and his husband. Most importantly, Tim leaves, his beloved grandchildren.

Tim was a graduate of Smith Vocational High School in Northampton. He joined the Navy and worked as a machinist aboard the USS Forestall. Tim married Kathie (Sokolosky) Tessier in August of 1965. Tim worked at various companies as a machinist before finding his passion for youth and teaching.

Tim was a devoted sportsman and early environmental activist in cleaning up the Connecticut River and assisting in getting fish ladders installed. Tim dedicated much of his life to sporting and getting youth involved in sporting through the sportsmen's club at Smith Vocational.

After retirement, Tim's attention turned to Pigeon Racing and youth development in the sport. Tim founded the Northwest Junior Flyers, an organization that taught youth about the sport of pigeon racing, built and donated coops and birds to youth across the region. He spent his time with his birds and family.

Tim enjoyed annual family trips to Maine, judging the annual cookie night competition, trivia, and inciting competition among his grandchildren. If there was fun to be had, a story to be told, Tim was there with an impish grin, twinkle in his eyes to incite fun. Tim also started his machine shop, Florence Precision and continued to work on projects throughout his retirement. Tim was never one to sit still. Tim will be remembered as Dad, Papa, Mr. T, Tim, and Thomas.

Angel Wings

I got my Angel wings today.

I’ve gone to heaven, but I may not stay.

I see the sadness in their hearts below.

It weighs them down, brings them low.

I got my Angel wings today.

I’ve gone to earth, but I cannot stay.

I whisper to them of my love,

I sing to them of things I’ve seen,

now that I have my Angels wings.

I got my Angels wings today.

I whisper to them that I cannot stay.

I lift my wings and fly above,

I let them know they will always have

my love.

Now that I got my Angels wings today.
